A fall wedding in Istanbul

You might have seen Serra and Sercan’s protest-themed save the date photos. I have also photographed their fall wedding in Istanbul. They chose to do a small wedding, with a simple Turkish wedding ceremony at the city hall, and a dinner with friends afterwards.

I joined Serra at the hairdresser’s. She put on her wedding dress here as well. Because they didn’t want to spend time in traffic for posed photos, we decided to do the portrait session close to her home. We used the streets and gardens in the neighbourhood for the photoshoot. 

At the ceremony, after they signed the papers and became officially husband-and-wife, Sercan made a short speech for the memory of Serra’s mother, who had recently passed away. That short speech touched all the guests’ hearts.
